MCAC SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2025 at 11:59 pm

The Madison County (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is thrilled to announce that our annual scholarship application is now open. We are committed to supporting distinguished graduating African-American students pursuing higher education.

Awards:

$2,500.00 Academic Scholarship 

$2,000.00 Book Stipend 

$1,500.00 Distinction Scholarship

Criteria:

  • Must be a graduating senior from the Madison County School District or Canton Public School District. 
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 based on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must enroll as a full-time student at a four-year accredited university or two-year accredited college in the summer or fall of 2025.
  • Must be of African-American descent.

Selection Process: 

Each applicant is scored based on a point system that considers academics and community service. Recipients will be notified of selection via postal mail and/or email. 

  • Completed application form below (Personal Data, Academic Performance and Community Service). 
  • At least one (1) letter of recommendation from school personnel (i.e., administrator, teacher, staff, or coach) with personnel signature.
  • Include a signed letter on the organization’s official letterhead from each organization listed in the Community Service section in the application. Letter must include the number of community service hours completed (9th through 12th grade) for the organization. If community service was completed as a part of a church group, the letter must come from the community organization. 
  • Photography Release.

All materials (including the school transcript from the counselor) must be provided via email by Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:59 pm to firstvicepresident@madisoncountydeltas.com

Letter(s) should ONLY include service hours completed during high school, 9th through 12th grade. If community service was completed as a part of a church group, then the letter must come from the community organization.
