Accomplishments: Soror Higgins played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of the Madison County (MS) Alumnae Chapter. As part of the interest group that dedicated several years to the chapter's formation, her leadership was instrumental in the chapter's chartering in 2008 and upon chartering, she was elected as the chapter’s first president.


She introduced a formal chapter structure aligned with Chapter Management guidelines, ensuring that the newly established chapter had a strong organizational foundation. Her contributions include creating the unique concept of "Sororbration," a celebration that embodies the spirit and unity of the chapter.


As the Chartering President, Soror Higgins not only set the structure for meetings and chapter operations, but has also been a constant presence on the Madison County Alumnae Chapter's executive board, faithfully serving in various capacities since the chapter's inception. Her Delta vita includes serving as a member of the chapter’s Nominating Committee from 2012-2016 and chairing the Protocol and Traditions Committee from 2016-2020. She was recently appointed chair of the chapter's newly established L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Excellence, Achievement, and Development) Program.


Beyond her local contributions, Soror Higgins has made significant impacts on both the regional and national levels. Her tenure on the Regional Leadership Team, which spans from 2007 to 2020 and from 2022 to the present,  includes assisting two Regional Directors from 2009 to 2016 with the chartering of new chapters across the Southern Region. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, she was honored as the 2016 Southern Region Delta of the Year for the state of Mississippi.


Soror Higgins was an inaugural mentor in the first class of the Southern Regional Leadership Institute, further demonstrating her commitment to leadership development within the sorority. Most recently, she completed a two year term as chair of the Southern Region’s Protocol and Traditions Committee and is also a member of the Southern Region Membership Intake Review Team. She has also served as a member of the National Information and Communications Team, contributing her expertise and dedication to advancing the sorority's mission on a national scale.
